NEWS FROM THE HEADS
My theme is this week is power......The power of our athletes continues to shine - last week winning the London West ISA Championships, this week triumphing in the RBWM Knight Frank League against such large schools such as Newlands and Charters. Such prowess only comes about with hard work and I see that as so many of our pupils strive for excellence in sport at lunchtimes and after school.

“Take every chance, drop every fear and always reach for the stars!”
This week we hid the chocolate biscuits, cakes and sweets in the staff room and replaced them with strawberries and healthy flapjacks all for Healthy Eating Week. The girls were able to try different healthy snacks in the dining room and many of the less healthy items were not on sale (something which will continue in September). Unbeknown to us, the Catering Manager tracked the pupils’ lunch choices across all three sites and awarded prizes to the healthiest! You can see who was awarded below.

A huge thank you goes to Mr Burfitt, Harry’s father, for bringing his huge tractor to the Nursery this week. The children had enormous fun exploring it, pretending to drive it and tooting the horn, and judging the size of the wheels against their own height. They have painted pictures of tractors and farm animals, talked about the food products animals give us and have created some lovely Father’s Day messages for you on Sunday.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION AT THE SUMMER FETE
On Saturday 25 June, as part of our celebration of the great outdoors, we are being visited by the Great Gun Dog Company and their wonderful dogs.
They will be giving demonstrations on how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils (aged 3 to 12) who wish to learn how to 'work' the dogs are then invited to practice the commands that they see in the demonstration.
After the event, two or three children will be selected and given certificates as finalists and will have the opportunity to progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the Midland Game Fair on the17th September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. More information
There is also an opportunity for pupils to take part in a poster competition. All they have to do is download the template– get creative and draw their dream playground and bring the final poster to the fete. The best winning entry for the poster design will win a £20 Amazon voucher.
