Teaching in a Culturally Diverse Classroom: Embracing Differences in the ClassroomCourse Num: 2 (1)

This course provides an opportunity to examine our teaching through the lens of diversity and cultural awareness. Topics covered include: teachers' approaches to instruction and relationships with students, classroom environment, and examination of current teaching practices and resources. Several activities are adapted from "Teaching Prejudice Reduction," a course offered through Kean University's Holocaust Resource Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of a recent lesson plan (access to chromebooks and lab will be available), plus a textbook from your classroom if one is used in your instruction.
