THIS WEEK
- In ELA, we will read many stories including Turkey Trouble and If You're Thankful And You Know It. We are having so much fun talking about how our different families celebrate during this time of year and our different family traditions! I am loving hearing stories about shooting off fireworks for Diwali and breaking wishbones for Thanksgiving! We will create a class book about what we are thankful for! We are also learning the vowel Uu as well as the sight words me, sits, and with!
- In Math, we are finishing up our graphing unit and spiraling back to some number sense activities. We are working on counting forward and backwards and skip counting too.
- In Social Studies, we are learning to celebrate our differences and learning about family traditions. We will be putting up a bulletin board in our Kindergarten neighborhood where students will get to display a photo of their families celebrating something important to them. Please send in!
FAMILY TRADITIONS
To go with our Social Studies lessons, we are asking parents to send in pictures of your family's traditions! The picture can be of anything your family celebrates that is important to you, it does not need to be specially from this time of year! It is more meaningful to students if it is an actual picture of themselves but if you do not have one, a picture off the internet is fine. The honeybees will share their picture with our class and then hang it up in our neighborhood bulletin board! Thank you for your help with this!
After the Break...
We will be doing a STEM lesson that goes along with our Gingerbread Man theme. We are in need of gumdrops and toothpicks. If you are willing to send in any of these items please click the link below. THANK YOU!
