The Hydrosphere
What is the hydrosphere?
The hydrosphere makes up part of the earth's environment. It includes all the water on the earth's surface. It also includes water above the surface (such as clouds)
The Water Cycle
Above is an image of the water cycle. Water begins in places like oceans, rivers and lakes. Due to the heat of the earth, water begins to evaporate and becomes part of the atmosphere. In the atmosphere, water vapour becomes clouds. This is known as condensation. Eventually, the clouds begin to form rain within the precipitation stage of the cycle. Water falls back to land and runs off surfaces to end up back in places such as oceans, rivers and lakes.
