Are you worried your student may not be ready for college after high school. Here is a great Podcast from NACAC on: Why College Late Bloomers Are Special.
Though many of us find a linear path from high school to college, that is not the case for a set of students whose life circumstance, economic realities, and ambitions lead them on slightly different paths to higher education. This episode is all about the late bloomers among us who come at college from a wide range of experiences and with their own unique advantages. Use the link below.

Sophomores & Juniors - Summer Residential Governors School: Applications are now open. Applications are due to Mrs. Barnes by 4:00 PM on 12/4 via email. She must have the application and supporting materials at that time. Here are a few notes:
- Do not worry about the principal’s signature. Your counselors will take care of that information.
- Do not worry about testing information. We know students have not been able to take the PSAT this year. We are working through this.
- If you did an audition and have advanced, you need to complete the application and supporting materials by this same deadline.
- Your recommenders must send their evaluation form and LOR directly to Mrs. Barnes. (You should not have access to this information.)
- Her email is mary.barnes@lcps.org.
You can learn more here and applications can be downloaded here.
All Grades: Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition is now accepting applications. You can register your project here. Many of our students contribute and volunteer in our community. Here is a chance to show how you make a difference. It is a great competition to have on your college resume. Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition encourages middle and high school youth across the county to identify an issue in their school, neighborhood or community, create a plan to address that issue, and implement the plan. The goal is to encourage, support and reward the youth of Loudoun County for making positive changes in their own lives and the lives of others.
