Albert Bridge's Weekly Update
Curious Creative Caring
Principal's Notes
Our first Week is behind us! What a wonderful feeling it is to have our young folks getting into the groove. These first weeks we are focusing on our community and developing a sense of belonging. We know that the single most important factor in a child's growth is their sense of safety and connections with others. Thank you to all of you in helping make a smooth transition back to school. The smiles, laughter and constant questions are a part of what brings us joy as educators. As always, if you have ideas, questions, or concerns, just reach out.
Best,
Jenifer
Kindergarten Community
Our kindergarteners and practicing cooperation all day long. When you walk in the room, kids are working in small groups, sharing thier knowledge, creativity and curiousity.
5th and 6th graders
This class filled with leaders have started the year off jumping right into helping each other and other students in our school. They are showing thier leadership skills our full school morning meetings, on the bus, and helping with lunch needs. Way to step up 5th and 6th graders!
Safety and Security :Drills
This week we completed our Evacuation drill (most commonly called a Fire Drill) Students and staff did a great job staying calm and safe!
In the coming weeks we will do a lockdown/ evacuation talk and walk through drill today. We will be approaching this in age appropriate ways that is trauma informed and our current understanding of best practices. If you have any questions, please reach out to me and I'm happy to talk through this with you. We recognize that there can be a lot of concern and discomfort, but know that we will be throughtful with our approach.
