Parent Peek at the Week
Week of September 9th, 2019
In case you missed it......
This week we were able to enjoy lots of great patterning in all Kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms at Kawartha Heights. All teachers focus on the same math strand at the same time, which allows us to deepen and continue our own learning as well.
The kids at KH are as wonderful as the staff! Mrs. Sampson so enjoys and appreciates when staff send down students who they are proud of so that she can celebrate them too. A few names have already started to be added to the WOW wall - we'll keep them coming.
Thank you Patricia
We all appreciate a thank you from time to time, so this week we took a minute to say thank you to our wonderful bus driver Patricia. If you haven't had a chance to meet her, she is lovely - and a great part of our KH team getting kids to and from school safely each day.
Important Information for the Week:
Parking at Kawartha Heights
Parking is always a bit of an issue at Kawartha Heights. A reminder that the front lot is a staff parking lot. We kindly ask parents visiting our school to use the back lot (at the top of the hill). Also a reminder of the importance of parking outside of the bus drop off/loading zone. We know it can get busy before and after school, but it is critical that our bus be able to safely arrive and depart from our school. Thank you!
Welcome Back Package
On the first day of school, each child brought home a "Welcome Back" package. Thank you to all the families who have returned the important paperwork that is needed for a smooth and successful start up. If you haven't yet had a chance, please review the contents and send back any outstanding paperwork as soon as possible.
Pizza Dinner and Open House
We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone at our Pizza Dinner and Open House next Monday, September 23rd. Dinner is from 6:00pm - 6:45pm and our Open House runs from 6:45pm - 7:30pm. Pizza order forms were sent home on Thursday and must be returned by this Thursday. All food must be pre-ordered, so please make sure to get those orders back to school on time!
Kawartha Heights Breakfast Program needs your help!
A huge thank you to Koraley Tambre who has kindly offered to be our connect with Kawartha Food Share and Jennifer Cooke who has kindly offered to support some of the food shopping. We still need you! Specifically, we are looking for:
- A driver (or a few) to get the veggies, etc. to and from Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church on Highland Road. We are very fortunate to have the support of the church to prepare much of our fresh food - we just need to get it to them for prep!
If you or anyone you know may be able to help us out, please get in touch with Mrs. Sampson at the school.
Mark your calendars!!!! Once again this year, Kawartha Heights will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. Ms. Scott has been working very hard to get everything ready for the week of September 16th. Each class will have the chance to visit during the day, but Ms. Scott has also set aside some time to stay late on Wednesday, September 18th. We appreciate your support for this great event - as a portion of the purchases comes back to us in the form of books for our library.
Parent feedback on Survey Monkey
