Manitou Springs Middle School

April 23rd, 2021

Dear Mustang Families,

I am excited to share that our school completed our 1,000 Paper Cranes Project! According to Japanese legend, anyone who makes a thousand paper cranes can make a wish. We wish for everyone to stay healthy and for us to remain in person learning for the remainder of the year. The paper cranes lining our hallways are proof that by working together on a common goal, we can create something beautiful together. We are so proud of our students.

From the Mustang Leadership and Gifted Team:

As we look ahead to next year and are planning the exciting return to more "normal" school opportunities, we are also taking this opportunity to reorganize some of our positions to better serve our students. We have created an Instructional Coach position to serve our Middle and High School, and we are pleased to announce that Liz Litzelman has been selected for that position! We are also reorganizing the Gifted Coordinator position to serve both the Middle and High School as well, and this will be led by Melanie Gordon! This will allow for greater alignment of our programs and seamless transitions. We will also offer a Parent Night to share more information on the programming the two schools will be offering to our students. We are all committed to continuing the strong offerings our current coordinators have developed, while also adding exciting new opportunities! Please feel free to contact our building leaders if you have any questions.
