Calling All Pirates!

Auditions are now open for the 2021 VIRTUAL Talent Show. Please check out the flier in our weekly Smore Newsletter and make sure that all auditions are submitted by April 9th (no exceptions). Tomorrow is the end of the grading period. Missing assignments will have a negative impact on grades. Students and parents are always encouraged to monitor student grades through PowerSchool. Wednesday @ 2 pm MCAC Parent Virtual Workshop: Helping Your Military-Connected Child Deal with Daily Stress and Frustration. This is free and available to all our students, but you must register. Registration details can be found in our newsletter.

Don't forget that Wednesday morning all students will have their live Teams sessions and in the afternoon please encourage your child to join our live Art & Counseling Teams session. The enrichment sessions are not required, but they sure are lots of fun. We hope everyone can join us! Don't forget that there are only 2 more Virtual Wednesdays. Spring Break is March 29- April 2. When we return from Spring Break, students will attend school 5 days a week (M-F).

This Friday is Sweeter Things Ice Cream Shack Spirit Night (afterschool–8:00 pm) and don't forget to keep scanning those box tops. Check out the Box Tops section in our newsletter to find ways that you can earn bonus Box Tops. Every little bit truly adds up! Lastly, tonight the Swansboro community will be celebrating a Night of Hope. We are asking everyone in our community to participate by turning their porch light on at 8pm as a symbol of hope, light, and love to others. We hope you will join us in letting your light shine!

Technology Use

Please remind your child about acceptable technology usage. Recently we have seen an increase of school devices being used for personal reasons such as emailing friends, taking pictures, recording videos, etc. Please remind students that every move that they make on their device can be tracked, we call this our digital footprint. Cyberbullying and looking up inappropriate things are not permissible and will result in disciplinary action. Parents please help us monitor student computer usage at home to ensure students are being responsible and safe. Thank you for your help with this.
