High School Highlights
Weekly Updates from Big Walnut High School
Week of August 22
Welcome back to all of our students and families! It was so great to see everyone here for our staggered start this past week. We kicked off the week with nearly 350 freshmen on Tuesday as well as our new upperclassmen at our annual Eagles' First Flight event! (See picture.) We are very excited to welcome all 1240 of our students through our doors on Monday for the big start of the 2022-2023 school year!
Each week our high school sends out a newsletter to update parents with important information. Included will be announcements, events, opportunities for students and more. Please check it out each week.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers, school counselor or the administration if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to contact the main office at 740-965-3766 between the hours of 7:00 and 3:15.

Parking Reminder
BWHS Arrival Information
The high school doors will open each morning at 7:15 a.m. Please do not enter the building before that time. When students arrive, they will need to report directly to the cafeteria where they will wait until the bell rings to dismiss to first period.
First period begins promptly at 7:40 a.m.
A few reminders from our front office...
Please remember, if your student is going to be absent, running late, or needs to leave early please call the attendance line ahead of time and leave a message at 740-965-7776. If a student is leaving early please call a minimum of 2 hours prior to the student's departure time.
We are also asking that parents/guardians call or provide a note ahead of time giving the student permission to sign themselves out and meet you outside in the loop. No student may leave early unless a parent/guardian has given permission. Even if your student is 18, they must have prior approval from a parent or guardian.
Finally, if parents need to drop off any items, please leave them on the table just inside the first secure door of our main entrance. There are post-it notes and pens available for you to label items. Please text your student to let them know their items are there. Students will be able to pick up their items in between classes. We will not be calling students out of class for dropped off items unless it is an urgent matter.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
