Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy
"Bytes" From Your School Leader
April 9, 2021
Greetings Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy Families,
Welcome Back from Spring Break! Happy Friday! The week has flown by. I could not believe that today was already Friday, it must have been the sunshine. I hope you had an amazing week. Spring Break is over and it is time to finish strong. We know the longer days and more sunshine can disrupt sleep schedule and make it tempting to be outdoors instead of inside working, but we must fight the temptation and find alternatives. It is critical that our attendance remain constant and all scholars are in class daily and actively participating.
Be sure you are checking your email! I have shared important information regarding your scholar's ILearn Testing Site, Date, Location and Time. We are excited for this time of year, as it is a chance for us (you and I) to see where are our scholars are, celebrate their gains and support them their future growth. As we partner to reach our goal of 100% participation (we have achieved this with all other state testing windows so far), please continue to ensure your scholar is in class, asking questions and participating to give them the confidence to succeed not just for a test score, but in everything they pursue in life.
Are you talking about us? We surely hope so! As you continue to practice social distancing while connecting with friends and family during Spring Break (small groups, Zoom, FaceTime, Google Duo, phone calls, text messages, etc.) don't forget to share our school with others. Please be sure to tell the families you talk to about our school, to mention your name when they complete the official online enrollment form. We want to acknowledge you for telling others about our school and community.
With Gratitude,
Dr. Townsend
