CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY
CMU & You Day - 9.25.21
Mid Central AHEC wants to make sure you're aware of an upcoming Central Michigan University event, CMU & You Day, where students can learn more about health profession programs and more offered at CMU.
CMU & You Day is the best opportunity to discover everything CMU has to offer – all while experiencing the excitement of a Division I campus during a home football game on Saturday, September 25th.
This long-standing celebration is an in-person, one-day event that offers prospective students and their supporters an opportunity to view how authentic relationships among faculty, students, and the strong alumni network at CMU, will prepare them for a successful future. Students and their guests can interact with faculty, staff, and students in the nearly 200 academic programs, including the health profession programs, and explore high-tech research facilities and hands-on learning opportunities. They can visit the student services fair to find out more about what they can do outside of classes. And, enjoy lunch and a football game too!
We look forward to supporting student's futures together!

SENIORS and PARENTS:
IMPORTANT FINANCIAL AID MEETING
Don’t miss it!!!!
Date: October 4, 2021
From: Doug Bird, SVHS College/Career Advisor
Re: Financial Aid Workshop
I take this opportunity to invite you to the Swan Valley High School Financial Aid Workshop on Monday, October 4, 2021 @ 6:00 pm in the high school library. Two representatives from the Financial Aid office of Delta College will be our presenters. Information will be shared on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used by colleges to determine need-based and other forms of financial aid. The FAFSA also determines Federal grant, loan, and work-study money along with many state of MI programs and scholarship opportunities available to your college-bound senior. It can be one of those necessary evils in the process of securing money to pay for college. Plan to attend this one-time only workshop on the 4th. Also, please bring along paper and pencil for note-taking. See you on Monday, the 4th of October!! If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to give me a call.
Along with this invitation, I am including the following information that explains what you need to have with you as you prepare to complete the FAFSA.
How do I complete the FAFSA?
Step 1: Apply for an FSA ID @ www.fsaid.ed.gov
Each student applying for financial aid and one parent in the household must have an FSA ID. Make sure you write down your username, password, cell phone, email address and challenge questions and keep in a secure location for future use.
Step 2: Complete the FAFSA @ www.fafsa.ed.gov
The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This form determines your eligibility for grants, scholarships, work-study and loans. Most students under the age of 24 will need to include parent information. Students whose parents are divorced or separated and do not reside together, should include the parents’ information who provides more than 50 percent of the support for that student.
More information will be forthcoming as it is received from Delta College. So, please enter this invitation on your calendar and plan to join us and Delta reps as we begin to navigate the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
