Classes Go Fully Remote on Friday, Nov. 13th for Extra Cleaning/Sanitizing Measures

It was announced on Tuesday, Nov. 10th that in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID, students will attend school REMOTELY on Friday, November 13 to give the district a chance to deep clean & sanitize.


***Due to a staffing shortage at the high school, high school students were also remote on Thursday, Nov. 12. The weekend will be used to re-evaluate the situation and an announcement will be made if changes need to be made going forward.

Middle School Presents Veterans Day Recognition Video

Each year, we typically host a large gathering of families in the middle school for the annual Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings, a video presentation was prepared and was edited by Elida High school Senior Jack Earl. The video includes a montage of our middle school family veterans, a greeting by Principal Drury, performances by the 8th grade band, the middle school choir, a presentation by a Color Guard, a student speech and special veteran guest speaker. Senior Woodworking Project is Dual Purpose

We are always proud of the wonderful Senior Woodworking projects from students in the Construction Tech Design Build II class. First up: Senior Ethan Foster who recently completed a Sofa Bed for his room at home, that can also purpose as a couch or full-sized bed. Thanks to our Industrial Technology Instructor Mr. Matt Amstutz for all his guidance with the students on these great projects.

Alumni News: 2009 Graduate named Lima Exchange Club Law Officer of the Year

Congratulations to our Elida Class of 2009 graduate Callie Basinger who was named the Lima Exchange Club Law Officer of the Year! Callie is the daughter of Paul Basinger, one of our terrific SRO's in the High School. Callie joined the sheriff’s office in April 2015 and just three years later was assigned to the Detective Division. Congratulations, Callie! Read the ARTICLE in the Lima News.

Elida Senior Signs Letter of Intent-University of Michigan- Baseball Scholarship

What a big day for Elida’s Brayden Lybarger on Wednesday, Nov. 11, as he signed his National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Michigan on a baseball scholarship. Congratulations to Brayden and his family on this outstanding achievement.

Teachers Helping Teachers

During today's deep clean of the district, teachers held some technology sessions between remote classes. Sharing tools and Schoology resources and collaborating on organizing, recording lessons, ways to communicate with students, all to enhance the remote learning success for our students!

Be A Bulldog Sprit Wear Sale

The PBIS program is promoting "Be a Bulldog" Spirit Wear. Order forms were sent home with students last week and a digital copy of the order form is linked HERE. (t-shirts and Elida masks, too.) All order forms (along with payment) are due to your student's main office by December 1. We anticipate order delivery on December 22, just in time for Christmas! Band Boosters Designer Purse Online Raffle

The Elida Band Boosters have an Online Designer Purse Raffle coming up! Raffle for two beautiful satchels: Red Michael Kors and a Black DKNY. Tickets are $5 ea or three for $10. The drawing will be Live on the Elida Local Schools Band Facebook page on Dec. 7th at 8 pm. Thank you for your support of our student musicians. Full details on the flyer linked below.

Students participate in Job Interview Contest

Last week some of our Elida FFA students participated in the virtual Sub-District job interview contest, where they had the opportunity to participate in an interview, submit a resume, cover letter and thank you letter for the contest. Good job to all those who participated including Tytus Dally 9th, Victoria Burgess 10th, Da'Kayla Hall 10th, Caurina Janev 11th, Brock Lyons 12th

and Haydin Schiffhauer 12th.

Toys For Tots Donations Accepted

Elida High School is collecting new toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. If you would like to donate, please bring your toy to either office and place it in the box. The boxes will be collected the week of December 7th .

Elementary Construction Update

It's great to see all the activity at the elementary construction site this week: the base course of asphalt was installed on the east side, more drywall, panels installed on the gym roof as part of the acoustical dampening, ductwork & window installation, too!
