Training News for the Week of 2-14-16
FEBRUARY 2016 OFFICER DEVELOPMENT WEBINAR
Summary: This webinar reviews policies that every fire department must have to prevent liability, firefighter injuries, and public embarrassment. These suggested policies are derived from Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommendations and case studies. Participants will learn how to create numerous policies to protect their personnel and the department and how to conduct a risk analysis of their operations to determine if there are policies they must implement immediately. Among the topics addressed are the OSHA Operational Statement, physical fitness, carrying firearms, training requirements and skill testing, health and safety, and drug testing.

EMERGENCY REPORTING - IMPORTANT 2016 CHANGES TRAINING VIDEO!
Osceola Reports - the are AUTOMATIC AID GIVEN - not Mutual Aid Given
Disregards - any disregard where PENN FIRE did not make the scene is a 611 - Dispatched/Cancelled Enroute!
Also something I forgot to mention in the video - if you have a furnace malfunction, dryer fire, etc - ANYTHING involving an appliance, machinery, vehicle, etc - it is important to make sure that gets logged in the proper fire investigation section. When I upload NFIRS each month those things get tracked to see if there are any trends with certain models, etc for potential recall needs!
Thanks and let BC Kaz know if you have any questions.
