Message from Superintendent

Dear Richland One Parents,
Next week, we will transition to Phase 2 of our Reopening Schools Plan, beginning with our pre-kindergarten through second-grade students. Students will attend school two days a week and learn from home the other three days. We are excited to see them, and we know they look forward to seeing their teachers and classmates in person.
In many ways, the transition to Phase 2 will be like the start of the school year. For our pre-K students and many of our kindergarten students, it will be their first time going to their schools.
Please know that the health and safety our students and staff continue to be our priorities. As a reminder, students must wear masks at the bus stop, on the bus and at school. Social distancing and other health and safety protocols will be in place. Students will eat breakfast and lunch in their classrooms instead of in the cafeteria.
For bus assignments/routes, meal schedules and other information about Phase 2, please go to our website, www.richlandone.org. Also, be sure to follow Richland One on Facebook (facebook.com/richlandone) and Twitter (twitter.com/richlandone).
Thank you and have a great weekend. #R1Strong #RestartStrong
Sincerely,
Craig Witherspoon, Ed.D.

Red Ribbon Week - October 26 - 30
History Fact: In response to the murder of Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America. In 1988, Nation Family Partnership sponsored the first National Red Ribbon Celebration.
Monday: Students will design posters with catchy slogs vowing to live a Bully and Drug Free Life! Then, posters can be shared during morning meetings.
Tuesday: Students will wear hats vowing to put a cap on all drugs.
Wednesday: Students are to dress in red attire to support living a Drug Free Life.
Thursday: Students will wear sunglasses to shade out drugs.
Friday: This day is Wacky Socks Day. Students will sport their craziest socks on top of their pants to show that they have vowed to live a Bully and Drug Free Life.
Virtual Parent Open House for Phase II - October 28th
Message from the Nurse
Your child will be receiving a health form (pink) and medicaid form (green) which we need for every parent to fill out and sign and send back as soon as possible please. I have asked the teachers to send it home on the student's first day on site. The health form is 2-sided (demographic on the front /contact numbers and health info on the back) and the parent needs to sign on the back under the health info, this information is required and is very important for us to have on each student.
It is also important for us to have the Medicaid form (including the Medicaid number) and signed by parent. Please return as soon as possible.
