Be the Best YOU at Grandview!!!
Happy Fall!
I don’t know about you, but I am surprised at how fast the month of September is flying by. I can’t believe that summer is over and autumn is officially here. The old saying, “time flies when you’re having fun” couldn’t be a more accurate statement. Teachers are having fun teaching classroom routines and building connections with your children. I am having fun visiting classrooms and celebrating birthdays. I am having fun building connections between children and lunch supervisors too. But most importantly, the children are having fun! No matter what capacity they serve in, all of the adults are intentional in their efforts to create a fun, safe and comfortable environment for all children. If you’d like to get in on the fun, I’d encourage you to ask your child to tell you something they’ve learned about their learning. You might be surprised! Also thank you for joining us last week for curriculum night. Taking an interest in your child's learning is such an essential part of your child's success with their learning. If you want to see what fun learning is taking place throughout the day, follow us on twitter: @Grandview_Elem. Come join us for Friday's Fun Run!!

Transportation Changes
Do not rely on just the office for transportation changes. It is important that you also put it in writing in an email to the teacher. If you alert the teacher and the office, chances are better that the message is delivered accurately. We have so many transportation changes at the end of the day that makes us uneasy that a mistake could occur. Please do not make a change after 3:00!!
Grandview Elementary Heads to a Red Wings Game
On Friday, October 26th, the Red Wings will be playing the Winnipeg Jets. As this is a school event, Grandview students get them at a reduced cost. Tickets are $35 or $65. The $35 tickets are in the 200 level (face value $70+) and the $65 tickets are in the 100 level (face value is $100+). All orders and money are due by this Friday, September 28th.
There are prizes for selling tickets. If a student sells four or more, the student will be invited with a guest (parent) to an open skate & locker room tour at Little Caesars Arena. This event will take place on a TBD date next spring. If a student sells 8 or more, the student will receive a mini-stick autographed by a Red Wings Player. Household Survey Form
We only have 1/2 of the schools household survey forms and we need 100% completion!! Please ask your teacher if you need another copy. We are asking that you fill out and sign the Household Information Survey (one per family), which is needed for administrative purposes, not to determine eligibility. This survey allows our school to benefit from various State and Federal supplemental programs, like Title I A, At Risk (31a), Title II A, E- Rate, etc. This survey is critical in determining the amount of money the school receives from a variety of supplemental programs. Programs, such as our Intervention program, including teachers and paraprofessionals and student support coaches could be lost if these surveys are not completed. We are asking that you please complete and submit it as soon as possible, but no later than September 14. All information on the survey submitted is confidential. Without your assistance, the school cannot maximize utilization of available State and Federal funds.
