March Edition
Hello Eagles-
Opening at Level 3 has been a success! It's great to see more students on campus. Our sports fields are full of athletes. Classroom lessons have engaged learners.
Most importantly I continue to be impressed with how our students rise to the occasion, and comply, with our safety standards. We must continue to steer the course and fight COVID. As students return to campus, activities and sporting events please continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and remain at home if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms.
The month of March will be a great opportunity for all of us to recharge our batteries. Please review the schedule changes below. I hope all of you have a safe and restful spring break. When we return from Spring Break we will be starting Quarter 4! We will be at the home stretch of the most unusual school year we have ever experienced.
I vividly remember March 13, 2020, the day we notified our staff and students of school closure. Almost a year later, I reflect on the journey we continue to travel through. For many of our students, March 13th school closure will be a moment in history that they will retell to their own children. This has not been an easy experience to navigate. Yet, we've grown stronger. We are more aware of the social emotional needs of our students. We realize now, more then ever before, the power of parent partnerships. Our need to innovate and integrate technology has lead to the creation of engaging lessons. We have faced our deficiencies and reflected on how we can better serve our community. I hope we continue to embrace the future as a community of active learners, empowered to navigate today's challenges and create opportunities for tomorrow.
With Eagle Pride-

NEW - AP/IB Commitment Form
At Granite Hills, we want to support students as they develop into learners who demonstrate grit and perseverance as they take on academic challenges. AP and IB classes require students to approach their work very seriously and we, as a school, commit to helping them along the way. Please keep in mind, selection of an AP/IB course during Spring course selection, is a commitment to the course. Your ability to move into a College Prep section, or drop the course, may not be possible in the fall.
This year we are requesting students, and parents, opting to take AP/IB course to sign a commitment letter to pledge their understanding of the rigorous course work, the support needed to be successful and challenges of changing out of the course at the start of next school year.
You can review the commitment letter by clicking below or seeing the link on your digital form. Please email your counselor the completed form or bring in a hard copy to the counseling office.
