Dragon Weekly
Week of August 31
FIRST WEEK SUCCESS!
That isn't to say that there weren't bumps along the way and there may be more as we navigate through all the changes, but overall, it went well. Attitudes have been positive and gracious from everyone.
As always, we are in this TOGETHER!

RECYCLING UPDATE
As you may recall, we started looking at ways to reduce operating expenses mid-year 18-19. By using data to monitor trash levels and our need for dumpsters, bidding service contracts, and recycling, and seeking ways to reduce waste, our teams have reduced waste costs substantially.
Results:
- Waste costs were reduced in 18-19 by 20% from the previous year, saving $6,852.
- Waste costs were reduced In 19-20 by 47% from the previous year, saving $13,033.
- Total waste cost saving so far equals $19,885.
This also reduces our recycling costs. Other ways you can help with recycling:
Remind students that paper, cardboard, tin and aluminum cans, and empty bottles recycle.
These items DO NOT RECYCLE:
- Tissues
- Items with food residue
- Waxey coated milk cartons
- Plastic bags and plastic wrappers
- Glass
- Styrofoam
- Hard plastics other than #1 and #2 plastics
