Perseverance is the effort of getting through tough times with determination and bravery. These people have had tough times in their lives and gotten through it with perseverance. These stories are coming up in this paper below.
Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison was a fantastic creator of many great inventions. He created the movie camera, phonograph, and most important of all, the light bulb. Edison just could not find the parts for the filling. He was mocked by people for not giving up but he kept on being persistent and found the combination after 500 attempts! This man is truly great, despite is adversities.
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was a very fantastic entrepreneur and inventor of many great devices we use today. He created the iPhone, iPad, iMac, and many other great inventions with Apple. But did you know that Jobs was actually fired from Apple? Company executives though that the company could go in another direction, and Jobs disagreed, so they fired him. This turned out to be one of the greatest things that happened to Jobs. He didn't yield, but he created two big companies, NeXt, and Pixar. Apple bought NeXt for a lot of money, and took Jobs back. Jobs was a very noble man, and it showed in his products.
Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill was the prime minister of the U.K. during World War II. He was eloquent in his convictions and let anyone bring him down. He had many famous speeches, such as "Finest Hour" and "We Shall Fight on the Beaches" They are both about the Nazis taking over countries such as France. They talked about what would happen if Europe fell and how they should stand up to this evil force. He was persistent in which he would not stand down fight the Nazis.
This man is Thomas Edison, inventor of the famous light bulb! He made about 1,000 inventions in his lifetime!
Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of the U.K. during World War II. He made several famous and influential speeches during his life!
Steve Jobs created several technological inventions with Apple. His inventions are still used today with more modern enhancements.
Jackie Robinson was a baseball player in the 1950's, which just happened to be when the civil rights movement was. White people were not happy that a black man was playing baseball, but he played anyway.
Rosa Parks was on a bus when she sat in a "white only" spot. A white man came up to her and asked her to move, only to be declined. She was thrown in jail for her "crime." This was one of the starting points of the civil rights movement.

Overall this newspaper was to teach you about some people who were had perseverance. The real question is this, what can modern people learn from the perseverance of others in order to overcome adversity in today's world? When people today learn how others persevered, they can know how we can do it too, in their own way. These people showed perseverance, and modern people can show it too.
