Needs Collection October 28 - November 4
Blue Ash Elementary Collection for NEEDS and United Pet Fund Resource and Food Bank Center
October 28 - November 4
Thank you for your continued generosity!
Every year, the parents, staff and students of BAE generously donate canned goods to N.E.E.D.S. (Northeast Emergency Distribution Service) to help those less fortunate. Once again we will be collecting canned goods to help those in our community have a happy holiday season.
In addition to this collection we will be accepting dog and cat toys, food and supplies in order to support our animal friends as well.
We will collect these items in our homerooms and front lobby each day.
Please read below for details regarding needed items for our collection…
NEEDS -
Canned goods such as corn, green beans, peas, baked beans, fruit, pasta, spaghetti sauce, soup (not broth), tuna, as well as cereal, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, toiletry items such as toilet paper, soap and toothpaste. *Please no glass containers*
For our shelter and rescued animal friends -
Dog or cat food, puppy or kitten food, dog or cat toys (new), dog collars and leashes, stainless steel bowls, kitty litter, blankets, sheets, towels (new or used), dog/cat shampoo.
Spirit Wear Collection Too!
Members of our 2020 graduating class are conducting a Spirit Wear collection throughout the district. Their hope is to collect new or gently used Sycamore Gear - sweatpants, pajama pants, pajamas, hoodies, shirts, hats, shorts, etc.
This drive will begin October 28 and will run until November 15. Students simply bring in their Sycamore gear donations and place them in the Spirit Wear box outside of the front office.
A big thank you to our Senior class for this wonderful idea. What a great way to give back to the Sycamore Schools community we all live in!

Active Aves Volunteer Sign Up
Active Aves
Through Active Aves, kids can earn prizes by walking or running laps around the playground during recess. You can help by punching cards as the kids complete their laps, offering cheers or encouragement, or walking/running with the kids during any of our volunteer times.
**Due to high participation levels, we especially need volunteers during the second grade and first grade sessions.**
Thank you!

Community Composting
Sycamore is excited to invite community residents to subscribe using the link below and bring compostable food waste from home to district food waste compost drop-off stations where it will be composted rather than landfilled along with the school’s cafeteria waste.
Food waste is a major source of greenhouse gasses and cost billions in natural resources and supply chain losses each year. Every 46 pounds of food waste composted with GoZERO removes the equivalent of one typical day’s worth of driving emissions from the atmosphere.
To learn more about the program or to get started, please visit the GoZERO website:
Clothing and Shoe Recycling
Please remember to recycle your family’s old clothes and shoes by dropping them off in the convenient bin in the school parking lot.
