Kids Heart Challenge
Our American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge event will begin in February! Your student will learn about heart, brain and vascular health, and meet kids with special hearts!
Here’s how you can help:
- Register: http://www2.heart.org/goto/orchardparkfortmill – the website is NOW LIVE so you can get a jumpstart and go ahead and register today!
- Take the challenge: Be Active or Be Kind
- Share with friends and family through social media, text and/or email
You can help our class win the classroom challenge! Our goal is to have 100% of our students register online and take the challenge. The class in each grade level with the most students registered will earn a $25 Amazon gift card!
We will raise money for the Kids Heart Challenge from January 31st to February 25th . If you have any questions please feel free to email Coach Pesanka at pesankar@fortmillschools.org
eLearning
When a child misses school as a result of a COVID related absence, the following expectations are in place for eLearning:
The intention of the eLearning tasks is to keep moving forward with learning as best as possible.
Direct instruction from the classroom teacher will be provided via a pre-recorded video or via a live Fishbowl experience. This decision will be determined by the individual classroom teacher.
Independent work in reading, writing and math will be provided to students each day.
Tasks will be shared via our Learning Management System (K-1 | Seesaw and 2-5 | Google Classroom)
eLearning will only be shared with students who have been quarantined or isolated based on the parameters defined by Fort Mill Schools. If an individual is not informed by school officials directly then no eLearning will be provided.
Our teachers will not be providing eLearning resources for students who are choosing to quarantine out of an abundance of caution or for personal reasons.
*These expectations do not carry over to a child who is out for a minor medical issue or for personal reasons. They are only intended for a child/family that is affected by COVID. If you or any parent has questions, please contact an administrator.
FMSD COVID Resources
- To report a positive case or close/household contact for a student, please complete this form. Please complete this form in lieu of sending an email.
- When a student is eligible to return to the school setting, please complete this form.
- Please email all vaccination cards to Nurse Sarah at: ryans@fortmillschools.org. Having these cards on file here at school eliminates the need for a student to quarantine due to being identified as a close contact or household contact.
- See the FMSD COVID website for more information.
Contact Ms. Rhodes this weekend should you have any questions.
