A Message From Dr. Ricks

We are thankful for all of the wonderful support that we had at our Gala last Friday! It was great to see you all and visit. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this event a success; whether you donated your time, talent, treasure (or all three), it was very much appreciated. The office is still counting last minute sales and donations, so we will have totals for you within a couple of weeks.

I hope you all are enjoying this good weather! And, as I told the students in Chapel, we only have a few weeks left in the school year, and those will be busy weeks. I encouraged everyone to keep focused on the school work and finish strong... even as excitement increases over summer.

This is often a time of year when our parents become aware of families who may be looking for a new school for their children. Do please encourage your friends to talk to us, and also let Admissions Coordinator Liz McQueen know so she can contact them directly.

With Warm Regards,

Dr. Beth J. Ricks

Head of School

Spring Book Fair, April 29 - May 1

Each class will have the opportunity to visit our Spring Book Fair while it is here next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This is our 1st year to host a Spring Fair and we are excited to offer ALL of our required summer reading titles and few newly released titles too. This is one stop shopping for your children's books and a chance to support our growing GES Library at the same time!

If you have questions about the Spring Book Fair please email Dee Cagle at dcagle@graceepiscopal.org

Gator Gala

Thank you to all of our parent volunteers and sponsors that made our Gator Gala such a success.

4th Grade Medieval Project

An annual tradition at Grace is the Medieval Unit that the 4th Grade students take part in. This unit begins with an overnight trip to Dallas where they attend the Renaissance Festival and Medieval Times. At school, the students learn all about the elements of a Medieval Castle and traditional weapons and even construct a castle of their own! The final element of their unit will be their Medieval Feast where they will showcase their Medieval Costumes, castles, participate in a candle light feast, and demonstrate dances from the Medieval Times.

Carnival

The GES Middle School celebrated "Carnival" on Monday April 22nd. This is a tradition at Grace Episcopal School for students to participate in throughout the day. All students engaged in a traditional dance, made maracas, and ate authentic food. This year's theme was "Puerto Rican" to help the 8th Grade Students prepare for the Puerto Rican Mission Trip coming up in early May.
