Sick or Tardy Students
Please remember to call the school office if your child is staying home sick or will be arriving late.
Students Arriving Early
We continue to have students dropped off in front of the school before 8:15. This is creating a large group of unsupervised students. Do not leave your child unattended before the 8:15 bell.

COVID - 19 Vaccine Information
Throughout the pandemic we have shared information from our medical community. In partnership with Children’s Hospital, we are passing along information from their physicians regarding the COVID-19 vaccination.
I’m writing you today to help dispel some of the myths about the COVID-19 vaccine. Unfortunately, the misinformation is widespread and causing families to make decisions that are not based on the facts.
One thing I hear often is that parents don’t want to get the vaccine because they don’t want their child to get sick from it. While it is true that they may have some side effects like fever, chills and arm soreness from the injection, these are short-lived. The side effects are an indication that the immune system is responding to the vaccination.
If you are a parent of a teen, you may have heard the rumor about the vaccine affecting fertility. This information is rampant on social media and is one of the biggest and most unfortunate pieces of misinformation out there. In looking at the makeup of the vaccine, there is no biological way that an mRNA vaccine could impact fertility. Think of a vaccine like a messenger: it leaves instructions for your body to fight a foreign invader and then it leaves. The mRNA degrades within 72 hours and the fat bubbles that carry the mRNA degrade within days.
What we don’t know, however, are the long-term side effects of contracting the COVID-19 virus. While vaccines have been tested, the long-term effects of the virus on children down the road remain to be seen. We have seen kids with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children, where their major organs become inflamed after having COVID-19.
Kids deserve to be kids without worrying about what happens if they get COVID-19. Let’s give them the chance to thrive by getting them vaccinated.
