We are excited to partner with the Downtown Perry Merchants and Shop Downtown Perry to present the second book in our StoryWalk® series. Join us on Carroll Street December 10-12 to read .

StoryWalk® is a fun way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors simultaneously by taking pages from children’s books and placing them along paths for participants. Select stores in downtown Perry will post pages from a storybook in their windows. Activities for the whole family will be available along with a special prize for the first 100 children to complete a short survey.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

Wednesday Words with Williams!

Every Wednesday on the morning announcements, I introduce all of our students to a new vocabulary word that they may not know! Here are the ones we've done so far and the ones we will do for December.

Please encourage your child to practice not only these definitions but to learn their own new definitions each week and use them in their daily language! They can even try to see if I know a new word they found!!

1. Expeditiously: with speed, fast

2. Fascinating: very interesting

3. Minute: extremely small

4. Enormous: very large in size, quality or extent

5. Cease: bring or come to an end

6. Unanimous: two or more people fully in agreement

7. Drowsy: sleepy, lethargic

8. Recognize: to know again

9. Exclaim: cry out suddenly in surprise, anger, or pain
