Notes from the Principal

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Rescheduled!

We have rescheduled our PTO Meeting for this Monday, November 18th! Remember it was cancelled last Monday due to the snowstorm. The design for the new middle and high school is actually for our current elementary children! I hope you will join us for the MPV (Master Planning & Vision) presentation on the design for the new Middle & High School at Orchard School, 6:30 PM. Please see the Letter below form our Administrative Team regarding the presentation at Orchard and the other elementary schools.

We still have the same child care available for the night. Parents who signed up last week can keep their spots, we still have spaces available. Here is the link for signing up for childcare for the presentation: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7a8aTNdpC5GcrzItZ84RDaF1nUj-wkJC99SlcTFQL2BXTkw/viewform

The Harvest Fest was such a huge success! Thank you parents & families for joining us for this special event. A BIG thanks to our Kitchen Staff for putting together such a delicious luncheon.

Just two weeks until Parent Conferences - have you scheduled yours with your child's teacher?

Have a terrific weekend; take some time to read with your child.

The Orchard School Book Fair: This event is just around the corner! Support our library and pick up some awesome new books for you and your family! The Book Fair is a unique fund-raiser focused on raising money for our wonderful library. A portion of the profits on all sales comes right back to our school. The Fair runs during the school day for several days, but is open into the evening only on Thursday, November 21st! On Thursday, you can shop until 7pm! Stop by for some holiday shopping!

The Thursday evening portion of the Fair is made possible through the help of the Orchard PTO and the wonderful parent volunteers who help us set up the event, run the registers, and help out around the shelves. Health Room Hints

It’s that time of year when we begin to see flu and flu-like symptoms, stomach, upper respiratory and cold symptoms. It is especially important to reinforce with your child(ren) the importance of covering coughs and sneezes with an elbow (“chicken arm”) or tissue and reviewing and practicing clean-hand hygiene: wash your hands often with soap and water (or using alcohol-based sanitizer if water/soap is not available).

Please see these links for helpful posters:

Handwashing, Keeping Your Family Healthy

Stop Germs! Wash Your Hands

In an effort to reduce the spread of illness, and in accordance with CDC guidelines, please KEEP YOUR SICK CHILD HOME (your child must be fever-free for 24 hours, without fever-reducing medicine, before returning to school).
