Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!

Spring Forward...Let's Do This!

We're looking forward to returning after Spring Break for our last quarter of learning together. Day after day we get to celebrate stories of growth and triumph as our students have dug in and grown both academically, socially and behaviorally. Here I go sounding like an old lady again, but seriously...it's hard for children to just be children. Kids want to grow up so fast. Relationships and makeup and crazy styles and taking chances. Everybody has access to so much information. Addictions start at incredibly young ages and affect actual brain growth. It seems that no one can get away from the pressure to be liked and get likes on social media. Wired children can often be tired and stressed children who are often grumpy and sluggish and lack the perseverance to make it through a busy school day with a smile. We are trying so hard to make every minute count; distractions are multiplied when they happen in a group setting. Thank you for all you do to send us well rested, fed and emotionally supported problem-solvers on the daily. We will keep working everyday toward our goal of building confident learners who feel like they belong here at Belmont. Every single ounce of love and parenting that you put into your child is multiplied a thousandfold in the classroom when they reach that level of self-regulation in which they can make choices that are helpful for themselves and others, rather than impulsively acting in ways that though seemingly insignificant, are actually quite hurtful to themselves and others. Our Bulldogs are getting it though! They are! We're not perfect, but we are growing.

Speaking of Spring, please humor me for one more ask. Our district does, in fact, have a dress code- it's in that Student and Family Handbook linked below. Shorts and skirts and shirts and tops and all of the things need to actually fit well and cover all of the body and under things. I know that there are some super cute outfits out there for circa 2023 kids, but if they don't meet the code and pass the modesty expectations, please save them for the weekend. Much appreciated!

Enjoy your time together and we'll see you back in the building on the 21st, then that evening for the PTO Skate Party!

2022-2023 Yearbook Orders Deadline is today!

We are creating so many memories this school year and if you may want to have a permanent copy of our year! If so, please visit inter-state.com/order and enter code 74535Z to get to the order form. The deadline to order is Friday, March 10th. Doing so guarantees that your child will have a yearbook on yearbook signing day the last week of the school year. We do generally get a few extra copies to sell in May, but there is no guarantee that we'll have enough available. Yearbook orders are definitely optional, but if you want to opt in, the time to do it is before March 10th!
