Dodge County 4-H Blast
January 8, 2016
A NOTE FROM Tracy J. Behnken
Dodge County 4-H Staffing Updates
First of all, I am grateful for the support I have received over the past 16 years. I began my current Extension role on February 1, 2000 and the dedication and passion of the Dodge County 4-H members, leaders and volunteers has been incredible. My role as an Extension 4-H Educator in Dodge County has given me many opportunities to learn, be challenged, utilize my creativity, grow both personally and professionally, and most importantly develop lifelong friendships.
Due to a new staffing plan within Nebraska Extension, I will be transferred to the Washington County Extension Office in Blair on February 1, 2016. I will remain as a 0.50 FTE Extension Educator focused in 4-H youth development. My move will allow Washington County educators to focus more of their time and talents in their respective areas of expertise plus develop a stronger presence of 4-H youth development. However, the Dodge-Washington County 4-H service region remains intact, so I will remain providing collaborative efforts with Dodge County.
The current plan is to create a full-time Extension Educator position that focuses on 4-H youth development in Dodge County. Lisa Poppe is currently working with Nebraska Extension administration to secure the position. During this transition, I will be providing support and serving in an advisory role as much as necessary. For the sake of the Dodge County 4-H Program, the Dodge County staff and I are attempting to have this transition as smooth as possible.
The Dodge County 4-H Program has certainly been a big part in my life and I will miss all those who make it possible. Thank you for all that you do for the Dodge County 4-H program!
