Message from the Principal:
What a week!!!
On Tuesday, the finalists for the GPS Superintendent job were announced (press release below). The school board is hoping to name a new superintendent on September 26.
We had so many great things going on around Settler's Point this week! On Thursday, we welcomed Representative Travis Grantham to our school as a part of "Take Your Legislator to School Day." We were chosen to represent Gilbert Public Schools for this event. It started with an informal "Meet and Greet" with teachers, then our Student Council officers gave him a tour of our campus. He finished the day up observing and teaching mini lessons to the students in a few different classrooms.
On Friday, our PTSO had a "Rockin Thru the Ages," social event and had a great turnout! These events have been cancelled in the last few years because there weren't enough PTSO volunteers to coordinate. We really appreciate the increasing number of parents that we have participating in PTSO and Dad's Club!
It is my job to serve the parents, students, and staff of Settler's Point. If there is anything I can do to help, please feel free to reach out to me.

Fourth Grade Spotlight!!
Hurricane Harvey Relief....
4th grade student, Alex Semich wrote a Current Event on Hurricane Harvey and presented it to his class. He then went on to organize a fundraiser for Red Cross in his classroom. Students in 4th grade showed they cared by donating a total of $31.00. Alex was a great example of showing how to care about others. The 4th grade teachers are very proud of him.
Prepping for Rep. Grantham
The 4th grade students are also busy designing a “Welcome” sign for Representative Grantham. They are making sure that it is staying true to our Star Wars theme! Everyone is looking forward to his visit on September 14th.
Welcome to Rep. Grantham...
