The student experience: feedback and findings

Dear Bel Air families,

Last month, every elementary school and kindergarten center in our district gathered information and perceptions about the student experience. I invite you now to review the findings of the Bel Air parent survey.

I want to thank everyone who shared their important perspectives with us. As you’ll see, we have much to be proud of at Bel Air, yet there’s always room for improvement. In response to what we are learning, Bel Air will analyze these findings and will work with school and District staff to guide future continuous improvement plans.

As always, please contact me with any questions, concerns or ideas. I thank you for your ongoing support of our school and our students.

Sincerely,

Dawn Wiegand
Principal

General Information

Riding the Bus and Food/Drink

While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.

Student Safety:
In order to ensure the safety of students during arrival and dismissal, we will be closing the lower parking lot from 8:05 – 8:35 a.m. and 3:05 – 3:35 p.m. ALL students being transported by parents to and from school need to be dropped off/ picked up using the carpool lane in the back of the building. We appreciate your support in using the carpool lane to ensure the safety of all.

Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
