With Omicron cases starting to become more prolific within Te Aroha, I thank you for your vigilance and safety-first approach you are taking in order to help protect your children as well as other members of our school community.

A reminder once more if your child/ children are sick or displaying any symptoms please keep them at home.

Keep up the great work!

Property News

We are delighted to report that our new senior toilet block is in use and looks great. Whilst the overall project is almost complete, final painting touch ups will be carried out during the April Holidays. Additionally, sliding aluminium windows will be installed in the Rooms 1-4 and Rooms 9-10 blocks also in the April Holidays, giving these spaces an even fresher look.

School Car Park

This is a friendly reminder to stay in your own family space and keep social distanced from

other adults and children. Ideally, wait at your vehicle and your children will be directed to

you by staff. Thank you for your co-operation.

Stanley Ave Swimming Sports 2022

On Wednesday 2nd March we were very fortunate to hold our School Swimming Sports. We took a group of 70 children to the Te Aroha College Pool to compete in a wide range of competitive races. It was an awesome day with the children showing great support for each other and making us all very proud. Back at school were another group of swimmers that competed in a variety of races. Mrs Findlay organised this and we heard it was a fun day with lots of great swimming. We are sure that they all slept well on Wednesday night!

We had a fantastic crew of helpers that worked hard all morning making this happen. A huge thank you to Ally, Elle, Kristina, Shina, Grant, and all the teachers and staff involved for all of their efforts in making this day possible. Another huge thank you to Te Aroha College for letting us have the swimming pool to ourselves to make this possible.

Potae - Hats

As part of our Sun Smart policy, it is compulsory for students to wear a Stanley Avenue Bucket hat. These can either be the royal blue toggle bucket hat or the new navy blue bucket hat with our logo on it (New addition to our uniform this year). If your child does not have a hat they can be purchased from the office for $12

Room 7 Te Whare Tapa Whå

To start the year, Room 7 has been learning about the different aspects of Te Whare Tapa Whå.

Our whare shows all the areas that contribute to our wellbeing, including our: Taha tinana – physical health. Taha whānau – family and social health. Taha wairua – spiritual health, e.g. our “beliefs, values, traditions, and practices, that support self-awareness & identity” (Sparklers.org.nz).

Each week we have been looking into a new area and what it means to us. The clouds represent each member of Room 7 and show that we are all a part of this journey of discovery.
