Rolling Hills Primary School
January 2023

Welcome to January 2023!
Dear Rolling Hills Parents and Guardians:
As we begin a new month--and a new year--I would like to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2023!
This month's most important event is the upcoming Rolling Hills Family Technology Night and we want to be sure that you mark your calendars and come out for this exciting evening. All Rolling Hills students will have the opportunity to begin taking their Chromebooks home each evening and we want to be sure that you know how to best assist your child with our new educational endeavor! We hope to see everyone on Tuesday, January 10th; in case of snow or dangerous road conditions, we will use our snow date on Wednesday, January 11th.
As we move forward this school year, students will not be required to pre-order lunch on early dismissal days. We will be allowing the students to visit the cafeteria to quickly purchase a lunch that can be eaten in the classroom during their snack period. We believe that this change will make it easier for all students to have access to lunch on early dismissal days.
We would greatly appreciate your assistance with the following:
- Please be sure that your contact information--especially all of the phone numbers listed in Genesis to be used in an emergency--are kept up-to-date and accurate.
- If you are picking up your child from school, please make every effort to wait until all "pick-ups" are called for dismissal at 3:30 p.m. This is becoming a great interruption as students miss nearly 40 minutes of instruction daily--which can add up to 200 minutes--over 3 hours per week! Please avoid all early pick-ups unless there is an emergency.
- A "LOST AND FOUND" table is located outside the nurse's office. If your child is missing any items, please have them stop by the table sometime during the day to retrieve their lost belongings.
I wish you all the best as we continue working together for the good of our students.
Take care,
Pauline F. Anderson, Principal
