Week 6 Message from our Principal, Ms. Limon

Rogers Family,

Thank you so much for your support and partnership! Our students are working hard and Soaring into autumn. As a reminder, this week, on Wednesday ONLY, students may wear a school appropriate outfit that sports their Favorite Color as part of our celebration of Attendance Awareness Month. Also, Wednesday evening, please join us to meet our administrative team as well as learn about our Title I status and what it means to be a Title I school. The Title I meeting will be recorded for those who cannot attend.

Carpool parents, we are hearing that during dismissal, there are still issues with people parking and blocking the carpool line as well as people cutting into the line during dismissal. It seems that impatience develops because people are coming too early and then waiting for a while. If you have students in 3rd-5th grade, please wait an extra 5-10 minutes later to pick up your students. Our lines have moved very efficiently once students are outside. There is no need to come early, wait longer, and block traffic. This will help immensely with keeping the lines flowing.

Remember to screen your students at home for COVID symptoms before sending them to school. If you have any questions, call our nurse, Ms. Herrington.

Let us know if we can support you in any way! We Are the Eagles, Watch Us Soar!

Clubs Day was a blast! Here are a few pics from the many clubs!

We Need Your Help!

The Office of Family Engagement has created survey in order to gather input about how we can best serve you. Our goal is 50 responses! THANK YOU!!

Meet Your NEW Community Liaison!

This year, we were able to fund a Community Liaison position through Title I funding. The 2021-2022 CIP (Campus Improvement Plan) outlines our family engagement goal #7, to ensure active parent and family engagement strategies are in place to foster meaningful participation, feedback, and collaboration with parents and families.

For this reason, we have designated a position devoted to working with parents, guardians, families and community members.

Meet Ms. Rich (Yes, former Assistant Principal)! She will be working part-time in this position this year to support our students and families.

Rogers Reads

We are so excited to get started with our campus reading incentive program,

Rogers Reads! The purpose of the program is to encourage our students to read on a

daily basis by setting weekly and monthly goals. Please do your best to encourage

your student to read at least 20 minutes daily. Every student should be using a reading log to track minutes from their teacher. Happy reading!

We need your help for Carpool!

During construction, we have very limited space for parking and carpool. We need your help to keep our carpool lines moving safely.

  1. Make sure to stay in your car while in carpool. If you anticipate needing to get out of your car, please park on Lovers Lane.
  2. Please be patient about waiting in the carpool line. If you are finding that you are usually in a hurry every morning, then we ask you to add time to your morning routines.
  3. For afternoons, be aware that the school day technically ends at 3:15. We begin the dismissal process a bit early to ensure that all students are out by 3:15 with the younger students coming out earlier than older students. If you are picking up 3rd-5th students, please come right at 3:15 to give the other parents of only younger kids time to get through. That way you won't hold up the line waiting for your child to come out.
  4. Skipping people in line is not appropriate. We are a team and we want to model for our students what it looks like to treat others with respect.

Thank you so much for your help! If we operate as a community we can keep everyone safe and keep carpool moving efficiently. Construction will last through winter break so we appreciate your mindfulness and support.
