Get Ready for Training!

Hello Team! I am so excited to work with each of you this summer at the #bestjobever! This newsletter contains a few helpful reminders, my contact/FB info, AND the answers to questions that you asked in the Countdown to Summer Survey! (Didn't take the survey yet? Please do! Click HERE!)

Be in Touch!

I am a manager in Territory 10, which includes CT, MA, and NH. Camps I manage include: Amherst College, Harvard University, UMass Lowell, Southern New Hampshire University, Trinity College, Wesleyan University, and Western Connecticut State University.

Reminders Before Staff Training!

1. Get those certifications for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR uploaded into your job account!

2. Dive into Staff Corner! If you have difficulty logging in or navigating, check in with me. Staff Corner is where you will find course curriculum (Game Plan), details for Regional Staff Training, and a pre-camp tasks checklist.

3. Instructors: You should arrive to Regional Staff Training with one Weekly Outline already prepared. If you want to get a head start, you can find instructions in Game Plan. More detailed information about the Weekly Outline is also coming in an email later this week! Still have questions after receiving that email? Please ask!

FOCUS CHECK: It's All About the Kids

Take 1 minute to watch the video below. I hope it reminds you that this summer is about inspiring the next generation. It's about giving kids a safe, exciting place to create. It's about helping our students grow. And when we do those things, we grow as well. I can't wait to start this adventure with you.

Q&A With Apple Jack!

Q: What's your favorite song... OF ALL TIME??

A: Dvorak's New World Symphony, specifically the 2nd movement. But also, "No Scrubs" by TLC.

Q: What is your favorite board game?

A: Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit are two classics I have played since I was a tiny human. But I was introduced to Pandemic in December, and it might be my new favorite.

Q: Do you have any pets?

A: I fostered a crazy cat this fall, but currently, no pets!

Q: Which animal would be funniest if it turned out to really be a mythical creature?

A: The goldfish. Like what if this animal with a 3-second memory span is actually magical and highly valuable, and we are giving them away in plastic bags at state fairs??

Q: What's your favorite part (if you can choose) of working at iD Tech?

A: Coding can be a pretty solitary activity, especially when you are young and teaching yourself. At iD Tech, kids learn that coding and game design can be team activities. They have a mentor to guide them, and they meet friends who share their interests.
