Reading
Our reader's notebooks are getting filled with wonderful thinking and graphic organizers and places to record interesting words.
Social studies
We made a Halloween safety poster to help us remember to be safe when we go out gathering our candy...and sharing with Mrs. Hall....
Reading
Noticing the beginning letters/sounds in a word was one of our strategies this week. We put a word in a pocket and the children s-l-o-w-l-y pulled it out to reveal a word. Then they went on a word hunt in the book that they were reading and wrote a word to have their elbow partner decode.
Monster Mash
Here are a few of our classmates dancing up a storm. There were a few that didn't stand still long enough for a picture!
Top Dog
Our top dog has been absent for most of the week. He will be presenting next week!
Doggy Bag
We're moving!
Due to extremely large class sizes, the decision was made to relocate the first grade classrooms to a different section of the building with significantly more space. The move will be executed on Tuesday when there is no student attendance. This additional space will make learning activities involving student movement significantly easier. As part of this move, students will also now be receiving a locker to share with a classmate! Understand that lockers will NOT be locked and valuable items should be left at home. Though we moving classrooms, the students schedules, academic minutes, and teachers will all remain exactly as they have been.
Don't forget to sign up for conferences in Skyward.
