Halloween and Holiday Treats Reminder
As we approach the upcoming holidays, it important to remind parents and families that candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought/homemade), or any other edible items are not to be sold or distributed at school or on the bus unless approved in advance by school administration. Per our Student Code of Conduct, students who do not adhere to this expectation are subject to disciplinary action for violation 7A: Failure to Follow Rules and all candy or food items will be confiscated. Please discuss this expectation and possible consequences with your student(s) as this will be taken very seriously. This is due to recent national and state reports about students sharing edible items and synthetic medications with other students that contain very harmful substances.
Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping all of our students safe at school!

HBMS Volleyball and Basketball - Student Fan Tickets
Greetings HBMS Families,
As we move into volleyball and basketball seasons, the process for student fans who would like to attend home sporting events held in the gym will require a pre-purchased ticket. Due to limited seating in the gym and to ensure proper supervision, we will presell 25 tickets for each game to students. Tickets will be $5 and sold during lunch the two days prior to all home games. Students who purchase tickets will be required to leave school at normal dismissal and return for games at 5:30 pm. Students must stay in the gym and if they leave the building during the game, they may not re-enter. All students must have a planned ride home with pick up by 7:20 pm. Students who are not picked up on time will not be allowed to purchase tickets for future events.
Students without a ticket may only be admitted to games if accompanied by their parent/guardian. Adults who bring students without pre-purchased tickets to the game will be responsible for staying with them the entire game.
Upcoming Home Volleyball:
Friday, 10/21 vs. Ridgeview MS
Wednesday, 10/26 vs. Hopewell MS
Friday, 11/4 vs. FAST MS
Friday, 11/11 vs. River Trail MS
HBMS is Celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 24-28
It is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Please take this opportunity to open or continue the dialogue with your children around drugs. Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are less likely to use drugs than those who don’t, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.
SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) reports: There is an urgent need to identify children and adolescents who have or are at risk for mental disorders, including Substance Use Disorders, and connect these children and adolescents with other services they need. Schools can fill a critical role in both identifying such children and adolescents and connecting them with treatment and other services they need.
Fulton County Schools is committed to providing safe and secure learning environments for our students. Our Board of Education makes annual, ongoing investments that provide safety and security to our physical buildings as well as programs that focus on the social and emotional well-being of our students and staff.
We will bring attention to Red Ribbon Week and substance abuse prevention by hosting a spirit week October 24-28:
- Monday, 10/24: Sock it to Drugs (Wear crazy socks)
- Tuesday, 10/25: Don’t Let Drugs Turn You Inside Out (Wear your clothes inside out)
- Wednesday, 10/26: Team Up Against Drugs (Wear your favorite team jersey)
- Thursday, 10/27: Use Your Head, Wear Red (Say No to Drugs and wear red head to toe)
- Friday, 10/28: Your Future is BRIGHT (Wear Bright Neon Colors and Sunglasses)

Redistricting Process Timeline
Residents of Fulton County are assigned to a school attendance zone based on their residential address. When new schools or additional classroom capacity are added in a region, or imbalances of enrollment and capacity exist, the Board may direct staff to review attendance boundaries for modifications. This process of revising attendance boundaries is called redistricting.
Please visit the website https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/25448 for more information on redistricting in Fulton County Schools.
