January Updates
Carl Cozier News ~ January 3, 2019
Note from the Principal
Happy New Year, Carl Cozier Families!
I am so excited to be back with your children! We've had a fantastic start to 2019! Today, our hallways were filled with joyful, smiling children! I heard many adults AND children saying that the break felt "really, really long" and it seems that everyone is happy to be back together again. There are some new and exciting things happening at Carl Cozier this month! Read about our new playground fence - it's not quite done yet, but we're excited to see the final project. We also have a new Facebook Page. Check it out and like us to get regular updates about the great things happening at our school. Later this month, we'll be welcoming new Promise K students to the building. It will be so fun to see our littlest learners in the hallways!
I am delighted to begin 2019 with our Cozier community. Please email, call, or stop by the office if we can support you or your child in any way.
With Gratitude,
Ari Feeney
*NEW* Playground Fence!
You may have noticed a new fence on our playground. This has been a work in progress for a few months and it's exciting to see that construction is underway. The intention is to fully fence our school so that kids are safe, both during recess and also during non-recess times. The red playground and field are property of the City of Bellingham, which means that we are able to use the space as needed during recess time.
Our plan is to still use the red playground and field at recess. The fence and gate will allow us to monitor the number of students in that area to ensure that there is adequate supervision. It will also allow us to close the gates during non-recess times.
If you have any questions about this project, please feel free to reach out to me.

Welcome Mrs. Hoyt! ...to a new role!
The Office Assistant position will be posted this week and we hope to hire the right person as soon as possible.
