Greetings to the Britt Elementary School Community!

Wow! It has been a very intense and busy week for everyone at Britt Elementary School! I cannot thank you enough for your great work to support our Britt Community during last Thursday and Friday's apparent viral outbreak. We will continue to monitor and act in accordance with the recommendations of the Gwinnett County Health Department and school nurse. I ask that you continue to monitor and require children to wash their hands thoroughly and correctly.

It was a joy to speak with grade level teachers yesterday about eCLASS C & I. Thank you for your input for making Britt eCLASS C & I pages focused on personalized learning for our students. For the remainder of Monday's staff development day, you had time to plan collaboratively and prepare for early release conferences. I trust that your team was able to accomplish much during your collaborative planning time. As you continue to plan for next week's parent conferences, I ask that you be prepared to share positive comments with each of your parents about their child, in addition to academic information. Parents need to hear good things about their children first. Beginning a parent conference with the positives can help garner support for academic, attendance, and behavioral improvements. Thank you for the care and concern you always display in a professional manner with parents and guardians.

Let me know how I can best support your good work at Britt Elementary School as we all strive together using effective, innovative practices to transform and personalize teaching and learning.

With warmest regards,

Doris

Britt Elementary School, going strong in 2016!
