Get Your Homemade Holiday Pies - Support TPCA Bands

You love pies. Not the little ones at the grocery that look sort of homemade but taste, well, preserved. Not the frozen ones on sale at Kroger or even the pretty good ones at Costco. No, you love the deep pies with lots of fresh filling - the perfect balance of sweet and tart with a flaky buttery crust. With some ice cream, of course. Drooling yet?

Guess what? Right now our TPCS Band program is taking orders for wonderful, farm-made, frozen pies made by Skillington Farms in Lebanon, IN for a great price! Stan & Laura Skillington (Leah in 11th and Natalie in 9th) are part of our TPCS family. Their goal is to raise much-needed funds for musical instruments and equipment. Each homemade pie is only $15 and worth every penny! Available varieties are: apple, blueberry, cherry, pecan, pumpkin, and sugar cream.

Place your order before November 9th with cash/checks made to TPCA. How do you order? Find one of our band students, download the order form from RenWeb Resources or stop by the front office to pick up a form. Pies will be delivered to the school for student pickup on November 20th so they can be distributed to customers in time for Thanksgiving. These delicious pies will be perfect for your holiday dinners.

Get an extra one for those upcoming cold, dark January nights when your tummy needs some warming up!

TPCS Welcomes Dr. Jim Craig and Mr. Joe Gaafar

Wonderful you say! It's always fun to meet new people. But who exactly are Jim and Joe? They are our two newest members of the TPCS Board of Directors. Here is some great info on these two godly men, and we couldn't be more excited for them to help guide and protect our ministry.

Joe Gaafar: For more than 30 years, Joe Gaafar has worked in banking in investment management for pension and non-profits, providing administrative, legal, and consulting services. He is a lawyer, and he and his wife have two adult children and three grandchildren. Joe has attended Traders Point Christian Church (TPCC) since 1989 where he has served on the stewardship and worship service teams. He’s been active with Mission Indy, serving on their board the past ten years. They provide mission experience primarily for children and young adults. [Mission Indy is one of our high school J-Term student options.] Joe has served on TPCS’s finance committee for many years and will be expanding that commitment of service in joining the TPCS Board. Joe is interested in serving on TPCS’s board to bring glory to Jesus Christ and to assist us to expand quality education for all children.

Dr. Jim Craig: Jim Craig’s longevity at TPCC dates back nearly 22 years. He joined TPCC as Minister of Counseling in 1994, assumed this role after having been Senior Minister at West Lafayette Christian Church in West Lafayette, Indiana. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Purdue University and is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the State of Indiana. He has served as a graduate and undergraduate adjunct instructor/consultant at Indiana Wesleyan University, Indiana University, Cincinnati Christian Seminary, Purdue University, and Milligan College. Jim's wife, Linda, has been a long-time Spanish teacher in Pike Township. Jim and Linda have two adult children.

We Need Your Videos of Traders Point Events

I'd like to have a promotional video compiled of any and all student events. Christmas programs, Wax Museum, Mini Mall, Class presentations, EC Mom's Spa Day, athletics - anything you might have taken that shows our kiddos and/or staff in action. Yes, even Mr. Means and Mr. Hall directing traffic...or the dismissal process (which in fast forward, or reverse for fun, is really cool looking). All ages needed. Phone or camera formats are both fine.

Video files are pretty large and might not email. Just send a dropbox invite to Mrs. Kanzler at or save it on a CD/DVD and send it to me via kid-mail. We will make an AMAZING, fun, fast-n-furious fly through of life at Traders Point Christian Schools.
