The TIGER times
Yamhill Carlton High School
This Week
Week of September 24-29
Good Morning,
My name is Cindy Schubert and I am excited to introduce myself as the new interim principal at Yamhill Carlton High School. I am honored to have been selected to join this District. A little about my background. I have 16 years experience as an administrator and 10 as a high school teacher. I am a mother of six children, the youngest of which just graduated from high school. My husband is a retired athletic director and consequently I understand high school life.
In my short tenure at YC, there are several things that have caught my attention. First off, I am impressed with the staff. They are collegial, compassionate, and dedicated to their curriculum and the students at this school. The students are by far the friendliest and most welcoming that I have ever worked with--a compliment to you as parents. As I reviewed the curricular offerings, visited classrooms, and toured the new dome, I was impressed to see all the opportunities being offered to our students. Opportunities that other schools would love to have available to them.
My role as principal will be to support our staff as they continue to move forward with innovative learning opportunities that prepare our young people for next steps following high school. I believe that in order for your student to reach their academic potential we must work closely together to create the conditions for their success. I invite parents to reach out to the school should something get in the way of their student's learning. We will also strive to continue to create a culture where students feel safe, welcomed, and have a voice.
I cannot thank Matt Wiles enough for all he and Charan Cline have done to get the school up and running this year. Mr. Wiles and I will be working together to keep things moving along smoothly.
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your student in the coming weeks.
