Important Instructional Levers and Look For:
WEEKLY Instructional LOOK-FORS:
- Instruction must be bell to bell.
- Vocabulary, vocabulary, vocabulary-- Vocabulary is one of our lowest scoring areas building wide- we must continuously ensure we are providing vocabulary rich classrooms.
- Writing across all content areas-- ensure that you plan for writing throughout your day. Everyone should have attended the Being a Writer PD as well and this curriculum should now be being implemented in the classroom.
- Connective Purpose Statements (I Can Statements and objectives) up daily in classrooms.
- Update your Master trackers for ELA and MATH on a daily basis.
- Checking for Understanding- We will be looking for both formal and informal CFU's. We expect to see some type of check for understanding every 8-10 minutes throughout a lesson.

- Continue to incorporate the use of Restorative Practices daily.
- Please make sure that we are using the walkie-talkies for Level III offenses, nurse or buddy room escorts. For minor infractions in the classroom setting (use your restorative practices, safe seat, buddy rooms) before calling for administration or sending students to the office. (No student will be sent to the office unless brought be an administrator).
