What Are We Learning???

We will review the numbers 0-10. We are going to review the number names and practice their amounts. So far we have learned about L, F, E, H, T, U, C, O, Q, S and I. We are going to review those and work more on writing again this week.

We are reviewing our PBIS main ideas - Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Respectful this week as well as emotion words. We will use the characters from the movie Inside Out and also have that as part of our Super Friend party. Social skills and school behavior are a critical part of preschool curriculum. One idea you often hear is "use your inside voice". This week we will learn different voice levels. Level 0 = silent, Level 1 = whisper, Level 2 = "inside voice" or the voice we use when talking to our friends, Level 3 = teacher or talking in front of group Level 4 = "outside voice" and Level 5 = scream or "emergency/danger voice".

We are continuing our superfriend "high fives" or stars. I am sending home a set of high fives for each student this week. If you are unsure what to do with these or have additional questions please let me know. We have earned our super friend party and will wear pajamas on THIS FRIDAY.

To review topics such as dealing with anger and listening, we will use some of the Howard B Wigglebottom songs/books from youtube. These are great resources if you want to check them out!

Speech-Language Group- Jan 4-8, 2016

We will follow directions identifying the named shape (star, circle, square). We will practice saying words that begin with s- blends (ex. snack, spot, school, etc) while taking turns matching Memory Game pictures. We will review the words and sequence of actions to the "Friends Song".

Other info...

We can still use toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes - the kids have enjoyed making items out of these!

We will try to go outside each day we are able - please send hats, gloves, winter coats, etc.
