MAPs Testing

Students in grades K-8 will start their MAP testing on October 7, which will run through approximately Friday, October 18. Please make your best effort not to schedule any appointments for your child(ren) during this time. Also try and see that they get a good night's sleep and a good breakfast each morning. Thank you!

Wednesday, October 9, is Pastor Appreciation Day at TLS. Trinity students, faculty, and

families will be thanking all six pastors from Trinity and our sister churches who help with the

weekly chapel service. We will be presenting each pastor with a small gift of appreciation for

the wonderful work they do at our chapel service that day at 8:45 a.m. Please join us!

We are asking for a small donation of $1-$5 from each student or family to cover the costs of

the gifts - however, don't let that amount limit your appreciation. You are certainly welcome to give more! Please bring your donation to the school office by Monday, October 7th .

Each pastor is invited to eat lunch with the students that day as well. Help us thank our

pastors for all they do!

Pastor John Borgwardt (Living Word- Waukesha), Pastor Jonathan Arndt

(Reformation – Genesee), Pastor Jason Hacker (Grace – Waukesha), Pastor Aaron

Christie (Trinity), Pastor Scott Oelhafen (Trinity), and Pastor Phil Gurgel (Trinity).

Welcome Home Weekend at Trinity - October 12-13-14

Worshiping our God—listening to him speak to us in his Word and responding with our praise—is always special. However, it can be especially joyful when the house is packed. Think of the singing on Christmas Eve or the way we need to set up chairs on Easter Sunday. Yet, even on those days, we have members who are out of town. This October, WELS churches across the country (including our own Trinity Lutheran) are participating in something called: Welcome Home. The goal of Welcome Home Weekend is to have a weekend when everyone that is part of our Christian family at Trinity Lutheran Church (all 1500+ members) come together. After all, our church is supposed to be a spiritual home, and believers are kin. Our focus of worship on this day is the blessing of Christian community. Thus, we want 100% of our members there (and we are also inviting folks that were formerly WELS but haven’t been in a while). Save the date and join us for one of those services. It WILL be special as we pack the house. Think of someone you can welcome!

Community Impact Night at Pizza Ranch!

We want everyone to put it on the calendar early and spread the news. We are hosting a fellowship event at Pizza Ranch on Monday, October 21st from 4:30-8:30! Please come out and support this event. A percentage of sales will come back to TLS to help support our fine arts classes and our kitchen this year. We are looking for volunteers ( ages 12 and up) to help clear tables (people have been known to tip for this!). We need 8 - 10 volunteers to work this event and make it successful! If interested in helping please contact Haley Meier Give it a try and Sign Up today!!

Mission offerings can be brought to chapel each Wednesday. During the 1st semester, offerings will be given to the Prison Ministry.

DID YOU KNOW if you miss bringing in your offering for Wednesday chapel, you can drop it into the offering plate at Trinity over the weekend and the school will receive it to forward to our Mission Project.

Please help the Prison Ministry and get us closer to our $1,500 goal!

Lutheran Pioneers (BOYS K-8)

Next meeting: Tuesday October 8th (6:30 to 7:45PM in the Trinity Fellowship Hall/Lunch room)

Pioneers is open to all boys K-8 affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church and School and its sister congregations.

We are very flexible with all the other activities your children might be in.

We hope to see you at one of our meetings! Annual Dues will remain at $35 per boy - includes shirt, pine car and most parties and at least one camp out as well activity supplies. If you become a FULL time leader dues are waived for your sons! Could use a few parents, grandparents or former Pioneers to help at meetings! We have a wide variety of activities planned! Please contact me if you can help!

Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now. The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online. If you would prefer to bring in your receipts and have us scan them, that is another way you can help Trinity earn money.

If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.

We have set a goal of $1000 as a school and each receipt scanned will help us get there. If you have any questions regarding boxtops please contact Cindy Gut

Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
