President's Corner by Cree Sanford

There are lots of exciting things happening in February. We will have 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade SRC demo’s, the Valentine’s exchange for all grade levels, our 3rd grade performance on February 13th, the 99th day of school, Kindergarten’s 100th day, and Dance Across Texas for grades K-2, spirit cart and 3 spirit nights. It is certainly an exciting and busy time at Copeland in February.

Our terrific Third graders will be performing on Tuesday, February 13th at 6:30pm. It will undoubtedly be a wonderful show, so I hope that you will all plan to come out and watch this musical. We will have a brief general PTO meeting right before. I hope to see you all there!

Thank you so much for all of you that are constantly volunteering at or for Copeland. I cannot say enough “thank you’s” for those of you that help with Hospitality, SRC, reader parents, clinic, library, and host of other committees. Copeland is a fabulous place for our kiddos because of YOU!!! As always, if you ever have questions about volunteering or the PTO, please feel free to contact me at

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Activities

We need volunteers and helpers year round and there are plenty of opportunities. You can learn about SRC (Science Resource Center), which is an excellent resource not only for the students, but for parents too. If you are able to volunteer for this, I promise you will learn something too! Please contact our SRC Chair Selina Sauceda at for more info.

The library always needs volunteers, as do art and music. Please let me know if you want more information.

If you have any questions or comments regarding our VIPS program or would like to volunteer, please contact me at 713-829-0638 or
