Weekly Testing Sign Up for Students
Dear Prospect Park Families,
At Prospect Park School, we seek to maintain a safe environment for employees, students, families, and the community. To support those goals, we have partnered with the New Jersey Departments of Education and Health and Concentric by Ginkgo to provide an optional and free PCR testing program.
But first, we need your help! We are requesting each family to participate in this program to help safeguard the wellbeing of our entire school community.
To get started:
Please fill out a consent form that grants us permission to perform a COVID-19 PCR test for your student at Prospect Park School. This process should take no more than 5 minutes to complete using a computer or a smartphone. If a family needs to provide consent for more than one child in their household, please have the family complete the process once for each child. Testing is only available to students and staff at this time.
Please access the consent form by using one of the following links and your school’s access code.
For Test Takers under the age of 18 (U-18): https://testcenter.concentricbyginkgo.com/minor-consent
For Test Takers over the age of 18 (O-18): https://testcenter.concentricbyginkgo.com/invite-by-code
ORGANIZATIONS ACCESS CODE: PA3MSD
Finally, enter your child’s information, and you’re done!
Only students with completed consent forms are able to participate in testing. If you do not want your family to participate, your student will not be included in the testing program. Though, we hope you do!
On Test Day (Each Tuesday):
Each Tuesday, please come to the school cafeteria with your child/children between the hours of 3-5pm. Again, at this time, testing is only available to students and staff.
NO food or drink or gum 30 minutes prior to the test.
Your partner in education,
Mrs. Kerri Waibel
Info About PCR Testing
What is PCR testing?
A PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test is a highly effective method for detecting the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in an individual. Each test taker will take a test tube that has been registered to them, put their saliva in the test tube, and seal the tube. It is a quick and non-intrusive process. The sample will then be transported to a nearby lab for processing.
Why PCR testing? Why should my student participate?
You know the old saying: “knowledge is power.” Tools like PCR testing empower us to make great decisions. Without knowing the specific prevalence of COVID-19 in our school, it’s tough for us to make informed decisions about safeguarding our school community, returning to school, or continuing in-person learning. Testing empowers us to make these informed decisions about in-person learning and allows students, teachers, and staff to come to school with peace of mind.
