Community Resources and Opportunities
Volunteers needed: The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is looking for volunteers to help out at food banks and food shelves throughout the state. These volunteer duties may include food packaging, food distribution or assistance with warehouse duties. These volunteer positions are unpaid. If interested, Please contact Valeria.Lindberg@state.mn.us and include name, email and location (city).
Your participating is appreciated!: Below is a link to a brief voluntary survey from ECMECC (The East Central MN Educational Cable Cooperative) families are asked to complete now that distance learning plans are in full effect. The purpose of the survey is to better measure the effectiveness of, and discover the barriers that still may exist to, distance learning programs relative to Internet access and devices students are using. Participation is optional, but responses will help school district's provide better instructional opportunities for students. Click here to access the survey.
HelpNow: HelpNow is a platform geared toward students that offers live, online help from credentialed tutors daily. Tutors meet with students online and guide them through homework challenges, helping them to develop the necessary skills needed to complete assignments on their own. Writing tutors can help students become better writers through live chat and real-time document sharing. Tutors are available to help with a wide range of subjects for all grade levels. Anyone with an East Central Regional Library card can access this service for free. If someone doesn’t have a card, residents of the six county region (Aitkin, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine) can get one quickly online.
