PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Another smooth transition! It has been a great week as we transitioned to new daily start and end times, full-day in-person days, and opening the cafeteria. All students are up and at 'em 15 minutes earlier now, and whether remote or in-person, have done a great job with early alarm clocks! Thank you to students, staff, parents and guardians for your continued flexibility and patience as we stay committed to delivering instruction safely during this pandemic.
We have had a chance to work with our photography company, and we will be able to offer student photos! Be sure to save these dates:
- Remote students: Wednesday, February 24, 2021
- Hybrid A students: Thursday, February 25, 2021
- Hybrid B students: Friday, February 26, 2021
Photos will be taken during all PE classes. We are providing a separate day on Wednesday, when our building has very few persons in attendance, for remote students. This option will support social distancing and assist in keeping close contact to a minimum for those families who did not opt for in-person learning. Please be sure to watch for more information next week. Information regarding the 2020/2021 Yearbooks will follow in the weeks ahead as well!
As I am sure families are aware, the State of Illinois is currently vaccinating people who fall within the 1B Category and employees in schools are in that rotation. You are also probably aware of how difficult it is to secure appointments for the vaccinations. When our staff is able to schedule their shots, it often requires them to be absent during the school day. Teachers will post asynchronous lessons if their scheduled vaccinations fall within school hours. Your understanding is appreciated.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Cristina Jimenez, Lincoln's Health Assistant. We are happy to have Cristina join us!

No School, Monday, February 15, 2021, Presidents' Day
Remembering Mr. Lincoln, our school's namesake, on his 212th birthday:
“Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in.”
~ Abraham Lincoln
We're Open for Lunch!

SUPPORT D57 FAMILIES IN NEED
COVID-19 has presented many unique hardships and challenges for some of our family members, friends and neighbors. Some parents have asked if it’s possible to make a financial donation to help support District 57 families who are currently in need. The District has set up a system to facilitate this for anyone who is interested. We will distribute the collected funds to families, based on formal requests that are made. If you would like to donate, simply go to this link and click “Make a one-time payment.” Fill in your student’s name, school and grade, and click “COVID-19 Donation to District 57 Families.” Fill in your information and donation amount, then proceed to the payment section. Thank you so much, in advance, for your kindness and generosity.
Those who are in need of support can fill out this online form. Names will only be seen by select District personnel who are distributing the funds. Thank you.
Mr. Adam ParisI, District 57 Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations
