What is going on?
We are needing donations to get crafty next week.
We need felt, cloth, fake fur, jewels and all kinds of craft supplies to decorate our dolls. Each child will be designing a doll from the country they will be researching. Please send supplies in Monday or Tuesday.
Reading & Writing: We will continue and finish our PBL project. Our driving question is: How can we educate others about the world’s different cultural celebrations? Students are researching a country to teach others about cultural celebrations through written communication and artistic representation by creating a culture doll.
Spelling: close, across, does, right, much, sister, sat, try
Grammar: We will continue learning about the importance of ending punctuation.
Science: In Science we will distinguish between natural and manmade resources. We will also focus on conservation. On Monday we will have a visit from Dowser Dan.
Math: We will continue learning about equal fractional parts :halves, fourths, and eighths. Students will be counting fractional parts beyond one whole using words and recognizing how many parts it takes to equal one whole. Students need to understand that the more fractional parts there are, the smaller the piece. Example: halves would be larger than sixths because ½ is a whole cut in two pieces while ⅙ is a whole cut in six pieces.
