The MES library now has an easy to remember web address - www.meslibrary.com - which should make it easier to link to your own websites and Google classrooms as well as share with parents and students who are seeking book recommendations. There are tabs FOR TEACHERS, FOR STUDENTS, and FOR PARENTS. Take a quick tour in the video below.

Your students can complete the MES library scavenger hunt here.

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl

Big picture

The Morningside Elementary School Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl team is open to any interested fourth- and fifth-grade students. Only 10 members will compete (2 alternates are on standby). Since we have 6 team members returning, we are only filling four spots on the team and two alternates in case of emergency. Alternates are expected to attend practices and be ready to compete if one of the ten team members can not compete. Alternates are a vital part of the team. You can also download a pdf checklist of all ten titles here. All titles are available as eBooks for free to APS students through AFPLS Class Pass in MyBackpack. However there is an extremely long waiting list.

For complete explanation of how to be considered for one of the four slots, download the guidelines here.
