Mr. O'Connell's Weekly Updates

School Pictures--Monday!!!

We now have a date for our spring photos, it is March 8th. We will have time for our in person learners and our remote learners if they choose to come into the building to be photographed.

A note has been sent from Lifetouch to all families with a link to order their picture packages online instead of using the form. They would prefer that, however an order form will be sent home with your child today if you prefer to use that. Here is the LINK to Lifetouch to order and you will need the code: EVT8FQH2J

Make up day is April 20th.

Remote learners will be allowed to come to the Library doors on March 8th from 2:30-3:30 PM to get their photo taken. Family member would bring your child to the library doors and staff member will meet them there and take them into the LIbrary for their photo and then return them to the same door. They will need to be masked as they enter the building. Thanks for understanding.

Our District Communication

Each Friday our district sends a communication--check it out if you have not and it is fabulous!

Cereal Challenge

We are in the middle of a challenge between classes to see who can bring in the most cereal boxes. We plan to use them to make a giant maze of dominoes through the building this week! Please send in a box or two if you can. The cereal boxes will be donated to a local food pantry when we are finished! Thanks! Here is the link to the flyer that was sent home.

Arrival and Dismissal

A phone message was sent out last week regarding being patient as you are picking up or dropping off students at school. Please make sure you are not parking and getting out of your car in the horseshoe as this creates a mess for the flow of traffic. We will be out there in the afternoon to help create 2 lines of traffic so that we can keep the flow moving, we ask that you do not create a third lane as this only makes the flow stagnate.

There is no parking on Atwood on the west side of the school for the bus lane.

Thanks again for your continued patience and support to keep ALL of our children safe at arrival and dismissal.

Weather Changes

The weather is ever changing now, so this is a reminder to make sure you are sending your child to school with clothing that is suitable for the weather. It continues to be pretty sloppy out there this week, so please remember that when sending your child to school for recess. Please send an extra pair of socks in their backpack for after recess too! Thanks so much!

Health Guidelines

We have had a great two weeks back in school! Just a reminder to continue to let us know here in the office if your child has been exposed to someone with the virus or if there is someone in the house with the virus Updated district guidelines

We appreciate you contacting the Nurse ( or or Mr. O'Connell ( if you have been exposed or have tested positive for the virus while on break. This just keeps us informed and also helps to keep everyone healthy in return from break.

Newly released this morning:

Governor Kim Reynolds announced lifting Iowa mask rule, but CRCSD mask mandate remains within all school buildings and buses. Additionally, mitigation strategies remain for all school athletics and activities. You can view mask protocol on our Health and Safety site.
