>they both help those who have mental illness and those who struggle with daily stressful situations.

>they are both a form of psychotherapy

>they are both helpful in helping people in relationships

>Behavioral therapy and Cognitive behavioral therapy is are both a cognitive therapy and behavior therapy (corey page250)

>> they are both concerned with things that we think about and things that we do in a day to day life.


>Cognitive behavior therapy:

>The basis of cognitive therapy is that thoughts can influence feelings, and that one's emotional response to a situation comes from one's interpretation of that situation.


>helps clients to be able to know that what we think can influence how we feel, and that our emotions can play a part in it also.

>it is more influenced on how we think and how we feel.(Corey; 2013;pg.249)

>>looks at what we influenced by and how that influences our thoughts and our feelings.

>> this therapy overtook behavioral therapy as a leading force in the realm of therapy in the 70's (Corey; page 250)

>Behavioral Therapy

>they focuses mostly on how some thoughts or behaviors may accidentally get "rewarded" within one's environment, contributing to an increase in the frequency of these thoughts and behaviors. (abct;2015;n.p.)

>how any behavior can be rewarded no matter what kind and how it might not always be positive.


Goals of Behavior therapy And Cognitive Behavior Therapy

>Help clients to better understand their problems

>CBT wants to help clients to separate how they see themselves and how they see their behaviors.

>> they want you to see yourselves better and to better see your problems in order fix them.

>behavior therapy: to help clients to deal with their current problems that they experience and figure out what factors influence these problems and what influence their problems.(Corey; pg.251)

>>>with behavioral therapy the biggest goal is to figure out what kinds of things in life are creating your problems and to help you find the best tools to overcome these problems.

How to beat Procracantation

I think that CBT would be the best form of therapy to help with procrastination. According to Psychology some good strategies are:

>>Set goals you can keep

>>break down your goals into ways that you can keep them

>>take away tasks that you know you cant keep

>>set a reward for completing a task.
